Purpose

The Tennessee Liberty Fund is a Political Action Committee sponsored by the Libertarian Party of Tennessee. It is a multicandidate political action committee as defined by the Tennessee Registry of Election Finance. Its purpose is to support Libertarian candidates running for local and state offices in Tennessee.

Candidate Support

Any member of the Libertarian Party of Tennessee who has filed a nominating petition with the appropriate county Election Commission(s) and is a declared candidate for elective municipal or county office or a General Assembly seat may apply to the Tennessee Liberty Fund for support.

Applications should be submitted to the PAC Treasurer by postal or electronic mail or in person. In applying, a candidate should make TLF aware of any and all factors that may affect his or her chances of success.

Preference for funding will be given to those candidates who appear to have the best chance of being elected, as indicated by several considerations including, but not limited to:

incumbency in the office being sought;

previous election and/or appointment to public office;

previous vigorous campaign(s) for office;

political, business, community service, or other activities resulting in significant name recognition in the candidate's district;

availability and experience of campaign staff; and

the demonstrated ability to raise sufficient funds (in addition to any funding from the TLF) to conduct a credible campaign.
